In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, several companies are making available “free” or almost “free” breast cancer awareness items that you can use to show your support for the breast cancer cause.

Following are some of these items or programs you may be interested in participating in:

Ka-PINK Your Facebook Page

For every person who goes to the Sunbelt Snacks Facebook page – www.facebook.com/SunbeltSnacks -- and “likes” the page, clicks on the Ka-PINK promotion tab, and downloads one of the three pink “Superhero” personas, the company will donate $1 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Payless for Breast Cancer Earrings

Payless ShoeSource, the largest specialty footwear retailer in the United States, launched a special limited-edition $2 earring set. All net profits from the sale of this limited-edition earring set, which will total at least $1 per set, will be donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The World’s Largest Pink Ribbon

Dick’s Sporting Goods is encouraging people to participate in its Endless Ribbon Facebook initiative during the month of October. When a consumer visit the retailer’s Facebook page and add a “pink” ribbon to their own Facebook profile, Dick’s will aggregate all the “pink” ribbons in an attempt to form the World’s Largest Pink Ribbon. People also will have the opportunity to dedicate the “pink” ribbon to a loved one.

Clip Sunday Coupons

On the first two Sundays during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, P&G will be distributing coupon booklets in newspapers nationwide. These booklets offer coupon savings on popular P&G products such as Charmin, Tide and Crest. For each coupon used, P&G will donate two cents to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
